PROCEDURE
When an application is received, a set of
model answers is sent to the prospective student. These indicate the standard to
be achieved at the end of the Course. Before committing yourself to the
Course, a sample work paper is available. An email request [

] will be sent with an attachment.
If the student decides to take the Course, a
cheque for £25 should be sent to the Registrar, who will send the first work
paper by return.
All cheques should be made payable to
CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE - OLC
When this work paper is completed and
returned to the Registrar, the student will be allocated to a tutor, who will
correct and return it. Meanwh8le the second paper is sent, and so
on. It would be helpful to tutors if students would send, with the first
work paper, a brief account of their lives and circumstances.
A full report on the student's course work is
sent to the examiner with the final paper, and this is taken into consideration
in deciding the overall result.
Students are urged to attend Our Lady's
Catechists' Annual Conference and Study Days, to meet tutors and fellow
students.
THE DIPLOMA
On successful completion of the course work
and final examination, and on receipt of a certificate from the Parish Priest
stating satisfaction with the practical teaching, the student is awarded the
Diploma. This is recognised by the Hierarchy of England and Wales and is
signed by the Bishop of the Diocese in which the student resides.
It will be appreciated that, as our Lady's
Catechists is responsible to the Hierarchy, the standard of the Course is
high. It is under the general supervision of the Director of Studies, Rev.
Harry Curtis, BA, B.Ed., S.T.L.
MEMBERSHIP
On being awarded the Diploma, students become
members of Our Lady's Catechists and are expected to offer their services to
their Parish Priests. A Newsletter is
issued annually, free of charge to members, who are entitled to attend the
Annual Conference and other meetings as arranged.
